The considerations behind New Ceremonies are the roots and development of Jamaican culture, music, terminology and dance as resistance. Flavia (Hothabanera) and Erik are accompanied by Marie, Catarina, Ablo Max and Napoleon in actualizing this project through creative writing support, and dramatic portrayal. The result is a choreographic work to a dub soundtrack that encompasses their experiences and artistic expressions; thinking about personal and collective practices (New Ceremonies) that express awareness of heritage and efforts toward liberation.
