pre-colonial explorations for real post-colonial future
“Pre-colonial Explorations for Real Post-Colonial Future” is the result of the musical workshops that were curated and directed by rapper/vocalist/performer Napoleon Maddox between November 2022 and January 2023. The performance profited by the presence of several musicians and producers who were active at the Unity Club in Naples, a space of independent musical and artistic production with which the project Research as Vocality begun a successful collaboration.
The special guest of the event was the singer/dj/producer/writer KARIMA 2G, who had just published the book “Il corpo Nero” under her real name Anna Maria Gehnyei.
african freedom warriors
by Renato 'Ras Tewelde' Tomei
‘African Freedom Warriors’ is a multidisciplinary project by Renato ‘Ras Tewelde’ Tomei, focused on the words of the main protagonists and leaders of those movements that fought for the decolonization of the African continent between the mid 1950s to 1975. The main aim of the project is to select, describe, analyse, and put in music the words of these leaders and their speeches which have inspired – and continue to inspire – thousands of citizens in Africa and the Diaspora to work for the development and the independence of the Continent, reacting and rebelling to the deep inequalities of the global social and economic system.
